1st Category-no age limit round A: - One of the following studies by H. V. Lobos: 2, 3, 7, 10, 11, 12. - Free choice of music. (maximum duration of round A: 12 min)* round B: -Free choice of music. (maximum duration of round B: 25 min)* 1st Category rewards 1st prize: 1500 euros + One paid concert in Music Megaron of Thessaloniki - Greece + One paid concert in Guitar Plus Chamber Music festival 2012 in Thessaloniki-Greece + cd-album production by the label Dissonance Records. 2nd prize: 1000 euros. 3rd prize: 500 euros. 2nd Category-up to 21 years old (born since 1st April 1990 and then) round A: - One of the following studies by H. V. Lobos: 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9. - Free choice of music. (maximum duration of round A: 12 min)* round B: - Free choice of music. (maximum duration of round B: 20 min)* 2nd category rewards 1st prize: 400 euros. 2nd prize: 250 euros. 3rd prize: 150 euros. COMPETITION RULES 1.* Maximum performance duration in all phases must be fully respected. 2. The first winners of each category will appear in the final concert of the festival, on Saturday 30th April 2011. 3. Participation certificates will be handed only when VGF is on. No mailings will be held after the end of the festival. 4. Order of appearance for contestants in all categories will be set after draw at the beginning of the concert on Wednesday, 27.4.2011, time 20:00. Beginning of the 1st round - Category B (up to 21 years old): Thursday 28.4.2011 time 15:00. Beginning of the 1st round - Category A (without age limit): Thursday 28.4.2011 when 1st round of category B is over. Beginning of the 2nd round - Category B (up to 21 years old): Saturday 30.4.2011 time 14:00. Beginning of the 2nd round of Category A (without age limit): Saturday 30.4.2011, when 2nd round of category B is over 5. Category B contestants (up to 21 years old) will have to register in the secretariat of the Guitar Festival (foyet - ground floor of Antoniadios culture hall, address: 19, A. Antoniadi str) on Thursday 28.4.2011 at 14:00 while Category A contestants (without age limit) will have to register at the same place, on the same day at 15:00. 6. Performance of the pieces may be held with or without scores. Contestants may also repeat 1st round pieces in the 2nd if they wish so. 7. The competition jury is consisted of at least five members. Their names will be announced at the beginning of the competition. The jury is qualified to solve any issue concerning the competition. It is entitled to interrupt the contestants at the end of the anticipated maximum duration or earlier. 8. Marking of each jury member will be secret, both for the rest of the jury as well as for the contestants. In order to form the final average score of each contestant, highest and lowest mark will be deducted. Jury members are not allowed to mark their own students-contestants in the competition. Half of the 1st round contestants (those with the highest average marking) will continue in 2nd round. 9. 1st prize winners of previous VGF competition are not allowed to participate in the same category. 10. K.E.P.A. has the right to record or video-record the competition and use the material in any desirable way. The contestants are not entitled to any financial claim from the use of the recorded / videorecorded material. 11. The contestants receiving an award or distinction must be present at the awarding ceremony (Saturday 30.4.2011 time 20:00).Otherwise the respective award or distinction or any other prize will be cancelled. |
